Legally Blonde Legacy

Legally Blonde Legacy
Preview for Abington High School Musical
By: Amanda Hayes

Recently, the high school hallways have been filled with exuberantly colored flyers advertising Legally Blonde, the spring musical debuting in early March. Already, a significant amount of people are planning on attending. All are very excited to see the cast as well as sing along to the songs.
The musical, directed by Mr. Steve Shannon and choreographed by Ms. Tara McSweeney, is sure to live up to the standards of all the musicals directed by this duo in the past. The cast is extensive, with talented individuals in leading roles, including Vicky Lynch as Elle Woods, Patrick Dwyer as Warner, Robert Morris as Emmett and Megan McHugh as Paulette. There are many talented actors in the production with roles as sorority girls, students at Harvard and members of the trial.
However; as stated by the director, Mr. Shannon, “this is not an easy show.” In his words, “This musical has a huge score and there is a great deal of effort that needs to be put in to make sure the whole show runs smoothly. Although; even though there is a huge amount of rehearsing, this will be a very fun show.”
When asked what the audience would enjoy most, Vicky Lynch said, “The audience will really like the appeal ‘Legally Blonde’ has to the young adult age group. It's a very funny and energetic show, but it also has scenes that parents, grandparents, and kids can enjoy.”
The whole cast of “Legally Blonde” has been working very hard, and the effort is paying off. They are excited for the score, the dances and even the props and costumes. Overall, there is great anticipation and enthusiasm as the date of the show approaches.
