“Family Problems “is a show with an eerie twist. It features a seemingly normal family that hides a dark secret. They’ve hidden a dead body in the woods. Each episode is told in flashbacks from three time periods; the 1970’s to the 1980’s, 2012, and the 2030’s to the 2040’s. Ms. Chiasson plays Molly Solloway, a married mother of two. Lynch plays Jennifer Grady, Molly’s daughter.
Lynch is very excited with the success of the web series. “What is most exciting is being able to see the final product; we filmed different scenes randomly, usually not in chronological order. It is exciting to see how everything comes together,” said Lynch.
The web series is produced by Seth Chitwood, a 21-year-old senior at Rhode Island College. Lynch and Ms. Chiasson say they enjoy working with him.
Ms. Chiasson is also the producer of the show. She takes charge and assists people with what they are supposed to be doing. “I am often known as the ‘mother hen’ of the group. I usually am the one to make sure everyone is excited and ready for action,” said Chiasson.
Many people, not just the actors, were excited for the show to be released. Before the show even premiered, it was already receiving attention. Cast members have done a press conference and read-through of the first four scenes to students studying film at Rhode Island College.
